Brookline Village

The Brookline Village commercial district was Brookline's first major economic center and is on the National Register of Historic Places.  Unique venues such as the Puppet Showplace Theater are complemented by an assortment of inviting shops, cafes, and restaurants.  It retains the feeling of a traditional village in countless ways: civic uses include police and fire stations, a public library, and a courthouse. It was also the site of Brookline's earliest shops and restaurants and America's first municipal gymnasium and public bath.
