Coolidge Corner

Harvard St and Beacon St

Coolidge Corner was developed as a pedestrian-friendly streetcar suburb alongside one of Boston's first "subway" lines (the C Line).  This busy and photogenic neighborhood contains the art deco Coolidge Corner Theatre, BYOB restaurants, a local bookstore, popular coffee shops, pharmacies, independent boutiques, ethnic restaurants, retail chain stores and banks. The area gets its name from the general store owned in part by the Coolidge family which opened in 1857.
