New England’s largest reform synagogue, Temple Israel offers religious services, a pre-school, Religious School for children, an adult education program, and cultural events. The Temple sponsors programs for youths, seniors, interfaith couples and families, gay and lesbian individuals and families, and single parents. Temple members also participate in programs that provide assistance to the homeless and the hungry. On Riverway, a Louise Nevelson sculpture symbolizes the union of human and Divine in a portrayal of the universe.
